Cake Spade is a sweet little desserts store located at one of the prime cafe area, Tanjong Pagar. It is opened by a beautiful lady who can bake really well. The signature cake has to be its Stawberry Tofu Cheesecake, which is photogenic and delicious at the same time. The other cakes are also impressive without overwhelming you with the sugar level.
LOOK & FEEL
Cake Spade has done its marketing very well. The design of the logo and cafe is very pleasant. Its lovely photos on its Facebook and Instagram are very attractive as well.
The space is really small though, with capacity for 10 or less persons, which is quite a limiting factor as people actually flock to this cafe for its delicious cakes! My friend and I were lucky to have dropped by during their non busy hours, and we had a comfortable time savouring the desserts in their cosy space.
FOOD & DRINKS
The Molten Cake with Vanilla Bean ice cream is one of the best chocolate cake I have tried. Even though there was no flowing molten chocolate when we cut up the cake, the extremely moist and chocolatey cake was enough to make us swoon. Surprisingly, the cake wasn’t as sweet as I thought it would be and the vanilla bean ice cream neutralized the strong taste of the cake.
The Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake was unique as the texture is slightly different from the average ones. The cheese layer was slightly spongy and the cheese taste was mild. It was delicious and would suit the taste buds of those who prefer milder tasting desserts especially well! I would recommend you to eat the cheesecake first before eating their chocolate flavoured desserts in order to taste this cake better!

IN A NUTSHELL
This humble set-up which serves impressive cakes make me want to go back for more. Even though it isn’t the kind of cafe for me to chill and watch the time pass, its quality is good enough for me to make the trip there just for the cakes! To top it off, the cafe is very reasonably priced and the owner is really hospitable.
